IInformation
is the most important resource any organization controls,
and ensuring its confidentiality is crucial in today’s
world. Secure Penang addresses continuing and new threats to
information security as well as responses to the increasing
risk of data pirating, security breaches, cyber terrorism,
corporate espionage, identity theft and more.
This conference is organised by iTrain with MIRC helps to
educate the community on the harsh realities of the online
environment. Most individuals assume that they are never the
target of online attacks. This conference is to disprove
that theory and demonstrate how anyone could be at risk and
what basic countermeasures can one take to mitigate it. It
will provide information security professionals, managers
and individuals with the most up-to-date information, tools,
trends, products, services and strategies for addressing
information and network security issues.
Participants will also board a bus ride touring Penang
scanning for open wireless access points. Throughout the
journey, participants will be briefed on the threats of
wireless networks along with its basic countermeasures. |
