MIRC and iTrain are organizing the KL
TechNite which is the local chapter of the informal networking
session between entrepreneurs, representatives from the local
industries, the ICT industry, the SME industry and Government
agencies.
The main objective of organizing the KL
TechNite is to support MIRC's objective to provide a range of
programs that will bridge the digital divide. Another
objective of the KL TechNite is to provide a cozy and
comfortable platform where participants get together and
network among each other.
The KL TechNite is often held at a
Starbucks outlet as it is essential that the participants
share and exchange ideas on the current technologies over a
good cup of coffee and relaxing ambience. The KL TechNite
supports networking among the participants by providing
interactive games where attendees get to know their team
members and work together to achieve a certain goal.
There will be a different topic focus every
month, ranging from fun activities like a Christmas
celebration to sessions for developers and entrepreneurs. The
main reason for this variation is to ensure people from all
sectors and levels are able to benefit from attending such an
event.
The KL TechNite supports local companies by
encouraging entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative
products and services during the event. With the KL TechNite
as a platform, this will be a golden opportunity for these
companies to educate the market that they too have reliable
and innovative ideas.
The first KL TechNite was held on 25th
August 2006 where presenters from TMNet, Microsoft & WCIT 2008
were invited to speak on exciting topics. Yang Berhormat Dato'
Kong Cho Ha, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and
Innovation was also present to support this event.
AMD sponsored the second KL TechNite where
the participants were updated with the current AMD technology
whereas British Telecom who was also invited gave an
informative talk on their “Innovation Programme” where it will
nurture SMEs to be globally competitive. The third TechNite
was sponsored by Maybank where they shared on their
Maybank2e.net Internet Banking and how it could benefit
organizations.
The Christmas Edition TechNite which was
graciously sponsored by MDeC was a favourite among the crowd
as there were technology updates, fantastic food, Christmas
goodie bags and gifts for the games & lucky draw winners.
According to Muhammad Aziph bin Dato' Mustapha, Manager of
Knowledge Management & BI Corporate Office, “The event was a
blast. All participants were clearly having fun, and that
atmosphere makes it a lot easier to get our message across. We
found that this event allowed us to engage with a unique
segment of the ICT market that would have been difficult for
us to reach ourselves.”
Companies that want to present their
technology are welcome to contact us. For more information on
